Texas is launching one of the most ambitious infrastructure investment plans in recent memory, with approximately $142 billion allocated across the next decade to upgrade roads, transit systems, and transit safety. The plan, supported by Governor Greg Abbott and the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), will enhance connectivity in fast-growing regions like San Antonio and Dallas–Fort Worth—part of the broader $2024 Unified Transportation Program. This was made possible by the state’s booming economy and aims to reduce congestion while modernizing key corridors.
